Typically used when connecting to a VoIP provider or another PBX that mandates user authentication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Peer Trunk<\/strong>: An IP-based SIP trunk that does not require registration. Instead, it relies on IP address authentication for communication between two VoIP systems, such as between your PBX and a VoIP provider or another PBX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7eb3a9efbf6cfa56aafff685030d093e\"><em>Note: The configuration settings vary depending on the selected trunk type.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Register trunk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-861d21acee980af290a651cb60b21590\" style=\"color:#4e7188;font-size:25px\"><strong>Basic Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large image-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"908\" src=\"https:\/\/wiki.xontel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-101-1024x908.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8501\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wiki.xontel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-101-1024x908.png 1024w, https:\/\/wiki.xontel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-101-300x266.png 300w, https:\/\/wiki.xontel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-101-768x681.png 768w, https:\/\/wiki.xontel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-101-14x12.png 14w, https:\/\/wiki.xontel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-101.png 1497w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Active<\/strong>: Enable this option to activate the trunk for use in all applicable routes. This setting is enabled by default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Provider Name<\/strong>: Assign a descriptive name to easily identify the trunk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trunk Type<\/strong>: Select <strong>Register <\/strong>to configure a registration-based trunk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Username<\/strong>: Enter the username provided by the VoIP provider for trunk registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Password<\/strong>: Enter the corresponding password for trunk registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Authentication Name<\/strong>: Used for SIP authentication. In most cases, it is the same with the user name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From User<\/strong>: All outgoing calls from the SIP trunk will use the From User (in this case the<br>account name for SIP Registration) in From Header of the SIP invite package.<br>Keep this field blank if not needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hostname<\/strong>: Service provider\u2019s hostname or IP address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Port Number<\/strong>: Enter the port number used by the provider. The default SIP port is <strong>5060<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Domain<\/strong>: VoIP provider\u2019s server domain name. If the provider has no domain name, fill in<br>the IP address instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Caller ID<\/strong>: Define the Caller ID that will be displayed for outbound calls placed through this trunk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Record Calls<\/strong>: Enable this option to allow recording of both inbound and outbound calls through this trunk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ICE Support<\/strong>: Enable or disable ICE for NAT traversal support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DTMF Mode<\/strong>: Set the method for transmitting DTMF tones. <strong>Auto<\/strong> mode is selected by default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transport Protocol<\/strong>: Choose the transport protocol (UDP, TCP, TLS, etc.).
